Window Seat

People grow up, but their fascination for window seat never ends. For kids, window seat is like a motion picture, they are glued to the view from the window seat just like the grown ups are glued to their phones. Getting a window seat during rush hours is a bit like getting a seat in an IIT, except you don't need to study for it. Just kidding, getting into IIT is obviously not as tough as getting a Window Seat. No, but if you look at the statistics, only 1 person in more than 10( more if you are in a second class compartment) get a window seat. And before you disagree with the statistics, let your concept of 'Window Seat' be cleared. A person is seating on a 'Window Seat' only if

1) the seat is adjoining the window

AND

2) if the person is facing the same direction in which the train is moving(as shown in the first diagram).

'wodniW teaS' is the seat behind 'Window Seat' which many people take it to be a 'Window Seat'. It has some features and benefits similar to a 'Window Seat' but the most important feature of 'Window Seat' is not applicable to 'wodniW teaS' i.e. wind blowing on face.

In a two door compartment, only 6 people get a 'Window Seat' and 4 people get a 'Wodniw Seat'. And if the train goes in opposite direction(referring the 2nd diagram) , the 'Wodniw Seat' becomes the 'Window Seat' seat and the 'Window Seat' becomes the 'Wodniw Seat'.

There is also an 'Almost Window Seat' seat which is the seat opposite 'Wodniw Seat' facing the direction of the train. It does partly enjoy the most important feature of 'Window Seat' i.e. wind blowing, although not with the same intensity. You have to put some efforts and get yourself nearer to the window to enjoy the wind. However, you don't get the arm support, But it's still a very good place to have a nap as it does have a head support, although a bit less comfortable.

The first preference of all the passengers who are aware of all the types of seats is the 'Window Seat'. Their second preference is 'Almost Window Seat' and 'Wodniw Seat' is just as much preferred as all the other seats.
